ExxonMobil Merges Refining and Marketing Divisions

ExxonMobil says it’s combining it’s refining and marketing divisions into a single company to be called the ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants Company, effective in the first quarter of 2018.

The new company is to be headed by Exxon’s marketing company Lubricants & Specialties Marketing Company President Bryan Milton, effective January 1st.

Irving-based ExxonMobil describes the merge as an efficiency move, to centrally manage “crude purchasing and logistics, refining, supply, trading, midstream, marketing and sales of refined products.” the company said in a statement.
