Two West Texas brothers are again plowing some of their oil millions into the upcoming political races.
Billionaire Farris Wilks and his family contributed $625,000 to each of two conservative groups heavily involved in Texas politics, Texas Right to Life and Empower Texans.
The former is a Houston-based pro-life Political Action Committee, the latter is Michael Quinn Sullivan‘s conservative free-market non-profit based in Austin.
The Wilks family of Cisco, Texas, has been active in recent years in Texas politics, giving the Empower Texans PAC $500,000 in 2015.
In 2016, the PAC helped fund campaigns by District 92 Rep. Jonathan Stickland of Bedford, District 94 Rep. Tony Tinderholt of Arlington and District 115 Rep. Matt Rinaldi of Irving, all conservative Republicans.
Wilks, along with his brother Dan, made millions in the fracking boom over the past 12 years or so.
