A new round of grants for the development of alternative fuel stations will be handed out by the TCEQ.
The total funding will be $6 million for the first round of grants announced earlier and this second series of grants, a program called the Alternative Fueling Facilities Program.
The first round of grant applications are already under review.
They will be available to businesses, individuals and government entities with plans to continue the development of natural gas and alternative fueling station networks, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality said this past week.
The state agency said the purpose is to create a foundation for a “self-sustaining market” for alternative fuel vehicles in Texas.
