Open Season: Waha-To-Agua Dulce Pipeline

February 10, 2018

Binding open season is underway for Gulf Coast Express Pipeline LLC (GCX), to which 60,000 Dth/d is being added to, when built, move natural gas from the Waha, Texas, production area to the market hub near Agua Dulce.

The open season is a result of strong market demand, the pipeline company said; it’s underway now and will continue until March 5th.

Gulf Coast is a joint venture with Kinder Morgan Inc., DCP Midstream LP and Targa Resources Corp.

With the added capacity, the pipeline is expected to have 220,000 Dth/d deliver ability.

The GCX Project will have a total design capacity of 1.98 billion cubic feet per day at an estimated cost of $1.75 billion.

Construction is expected to begin this quarter, with service to begin in October 2019.

The company said this week that Occidental Energy Marketing Inc. and Kaiser-Francis Oil Co. have signed on.
