Surveys are underway in Nueces and Jim Wells counties near the Gulf Coast for Kinder Morgan‘s newest natural gas pipeline.
The Gulf Coast Express Pipeline Project mainline is expected to bring 198 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day from the Permian Basin and West Texas to the Corpus Christi area, when finished.
The joint venture among Kinder Morgan, DCP Midstream and Targa Resources Corp. is planning to begin construction in October, with environmental and civil surveys already being conducted in rural areas of the two counties.
The $1.75 billion line is to start at the Waha Hub between Monahans and Ft. Stockton in West Texas, running through rural areas 447 miles to end at Agua Dulce, west of Corpus.
