Texas Baker Hughes Spinoff Moves Deeper Into the Marcellus

August 6, 2018

Officials in Mill Hall, Pennsylvania, say they’re very happy that Tomball, TX-based BJ Services is restoring some jobs and tax money to an office complex vacated by Baker Hughes.

BJ’s Michelle Pyner said Friday the company is moving it’s Clarksville, WV, offices to the town of Mill Hall, Pennsylvania.

That’s a turnaround from March, 2016, when Baker Hughes moved its Mill Hall offices to Clarksburg during the lower days of the oil and gas bust.

The $40 million, 38-acre facility has been empty since.

“This is great news,” Michael Flanagan, chief executive officer of the Clinton County Economic Partnership of Pennsylvania, told PennLive about the BJ move.

BJ specializes in pressure pumping and general oilfield services, and was from 2010 to 2016 owned by Baker Hughes, which spun off the company in December 2016, retaining 46% ownership, partnering with CSL Capital Management, Goldman Sachs and West Street Energy Partners.
