Cheniere’s Early Commission of Export Terminal

November 5, 2018

Cheniere’s first LNG gas cargo from its Corpus export terminal will be commissioned November 15th, according to the Port of Corpus Christi‘s chief exec.

It will mark the start of operations at Cheniere Energy‘s second LNG export terminal, the third such major facility in the US, according to Sean Strawbridge.

The Corpus Christi site had been undergoing commissioning work since the summer and will be commissioned early.

It was scheduled to come onstream in 2019.

Analysts estimate 1M-2.5M metric tons of LNG will hit the spot market in Q1 2019 due to start-ups at new U.S. facilities, a significant amount in an industry still dominated by rigid multi-year supply contracts, according to Seeking Alpha.
