A 66 MW Texas solar project is changing hands.

Now under construction, the Dawson County Project Ivory Solar Facility will go from San Antonio’s OCI Solar Power LLC to new owner D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments (DESRI).

The new facility, expected to go online later this month about 40 miles south of Lubbock, will have a power purchase agreement with the City of San Antonio through its public service board, CPS Energy.

OCI Solar Power President and CEO Charles Kim said, “San Antonio now has the most solar generation capacity in Texas, and working with Marathon Capital to secure the sale of Ivory to DESRI helps to ensure that the project will continue to benefit our community.”

The facility will include 197,000 photovoltaic (PV) panels and is expected to generate enough electricity for 35,000 homes through Oncor Electric Delivery’s transmission network.
