Following the sale of its Houston headquarters earlier this year, Marathon Oil Corp. says it’s moving out…
…Moving out of the one-million-square-foot Galleria-area building it’s occupied for more than 30 years and moving out west near the Energy Corridor area.
California’s M-M Properties bought the 41-story Marathon Oil Tower building back in January and said it plans a $25 million upgrade to the property, but Marathon was also nearing the end of its lease.
The Houston Chronicle said Wednesday that Marathon will build a new Texas headquarters to spec near the corner of Houston’s Beltway 8 and Interstate 10, with a spokesman calling it a lower-cost alternative to meet the company’s needs.
