A career employee is the new region director for the Bureau of Land Management.
The agency said Monday that petroleum engineer Tim Spisak will be in charge its Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Kansas territory.
Spisak has been serving as acting New Mexico State Director since October, and has been with the BLM for decades.
He’ll be in charge of 13.5 million acres of public lands; and 42 million acres of federal oil, natural gas, and minerals.
