Vinson & Elkins Names Partners In Financial Energy and Utilities

Law firm Vinson & Elkins has named two new energy partners to its Texas offices.

In Houston, Danielle Patterson will focus on energy market private equity funds and financial institutions, particularly in the upstream and midstream oil and gas industries as well as renewable power sectors, the firm said.

She’s most recently worked with EagleClaw Midstream Ventures, a Blackstone Energy Partners portfolio company, in a joint venture with Kinder Morgan Texas Pipeline on the $2 billion Permian Highway project.

In Dallas, Jaren Taylor will focus on representation of utilities, eminent domain law and other energy clients.

The firm said Taylor, in his utility and energy practice, represents clients before the Public Utility Commission of Texas and other regulatory agencies as well as before courts throughout the state.

Taylor’s work has addressed issues utility infrastructure, including obtaining of Certificates of Convenience and Necessity, litigating rate approval for utility assets, acquiring of right-of-way for linear projects through eminent domain and counseling clients on state regulatory requirements and the ERCOT process.
