One of Plains All American Pipeline‘s “key leaders” died on New Years Eve.

Dan Nerbonne, 61, was executive vice president of operations and engineering, and died “suddenly” according to the company’s CEO Willie Chaing, quoted in the Houston Chronicle.

“Dan was instrumental in developing and advancing our asset integrity management program as well as our Operations Management System. The impact of Dan’s contributions to the partnership will extend for generations to come,” Chaing said.

Nerbonne was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, according to a funeral home tribute page.
