Denver Investor Group Buys Tri Global’s Canyon Wind Project

October 2, 2019

Dallas’ Tri Global Energy says it has a buyer for its 360 MW Canyon Wind project in Scurry County, near the town of Snyder west of Abilene.

The buyer is Denver-based Silverpeak, an “alternative investment firm” focused on energy, credit and real estate, having invested more than “$18 billion in gross asset value since the firm’s founding in 2010,” according to its website.

Silverpeak Managing Partner and head of its Renewables group Santosh Raikar said her company is “particularly excited about this development being situated on the ‘right’ – or eastern – side of ERCOT West, which is devoid of transmission congestion that could affect the pricing and return for producing reliable, economical, and eco-friendly electric power.”

Tri Global describes Canyon Wind as occupying “more than 38,000 acres of flat farm and ranch land with nearly 150 participating landowners.”

Tri Global will remain as lead developer through project financing and construction.
