Texas Railroad Commissioner Ryan Sitton, who just a day ago announced his candidacy for re-election to the commission, is out with an analysis of global energy markets that includes predictions for the rest of 2019 and all of 2020.
The “2019 Energy Market Outlook” scrutinizes global crude oil, natural gas and environmental markets and trends, with an eye on emissions and flaring information, based on historical data from the International Energy Agency and US Energy Information Administration and other sources, as well as Commissioner Sitton’s analysis of extrapolated data. .
Sitton, the first engineer to serve on the commission in 50 years, says he’s been studying global energy markets for many years.
“Understanding where the market is headed helps inform what we do as regulators at the Railroad Commission, allowing us to better plan and prepare for increased permit activity, inspection and monitoring requirements and other resource demands on the Commission.
“This analysis makes clear that the Texas energy industry is well positioned but infrastructure investment is still needed to ensure we realize our full potential.“
