Pittsburgh-based law firm Reed Smith has opened a Dallas office led by an energy litigation expert from its San Francisco office.
Following the firm’s Houston office opening, Reed Smith is bringing in David Thompson, senior counsel in the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources Group and Real Estate practice to lead the “integration” effort in Dallas, the firm said.
Thompson led the same effort in the Houston office’s launch, and he’s joined by Bobby Majumder, who focuses on energy such as oil, gas and coal, health care and information technology.
The Dallas office will also include Brian C. Mitchell, a recognized first-chair trial lawyer, the company said, who represents both plaintiffs and defendants in disputes along a wide variety of industries and areas, including oil and gas and other disciplines.
Another energy-focused associate in Dallas is Lynwood E. Reinhardt, who has wide experience in energy, tech and health care, including corporate governance and transactions, advising and representing clients in mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, joint ventures, investment fund formation, initial public offerings and large private placements, in both Rule 506 transactions and Rule 144A transactions.
