Strong growth for domestic production of natural gas is continuing, leading the Energy Information Administration to lower its 2019 second-half spot price forecasts for Henry Hub by 6 cents to $2.29/MMBtu.
And the agency’s forecast fourth-quarter 2019 spot price was down 22 cents from the July report, down to $2.43/MMBtu.
And its Henry Hub natural gas price forecast average is now $2.55/MMBtu on the year 2019 overall (down from $2.62/MMBtu) and $2.75/MMBtu in 2020 (down slightly from the EIA’s previous forecast of 2.77/MMBtu).
The forecasts come from the EIA’s August Short-Term Energy Outlook.
